We photographed Brian and Mandy's wedding a couple years ago. We are big fans of everyone in their family. They're thoughtful, kind people. I was honored to spend some more time with Brian, Mandy and little Max. He's quite the chip off of Brian's block! [blogshow id=4b69 player=0 autoplay=0 toolbar=1]
Hands down, my favorite photo from this week!
I’m happy to share some photos of one of my favorite families in the world. We had the chance to spend some time in Carmel, California with our friends the Snows. We had a quick 10 minute shoot one evening on our way to dinner. Believe it or not, this location was right near the driveway of the house we stayed in. It’s absolutely amazing there, natural beauty everywhere you look! Aren’t they a beautiful family!? They’re just as fun as they are good looking. We’re blessed to have them in our lives. Yea, you heard me Aaron.

This is a session from last summer. The Blausers are a great crew to hang out with, these kiddos are beautiful and very, very sweet! I had a blast chasing them around for awhile. To be honest, there was a time when family sessions just weren’t my thing. Not sure why, but now that we have a little one, I’m falling back in love with photographing kids. I think it’s because I know how fleeting every single moment is when your kid is small. I’ve heard it said that when you’re children are small the days pass slowly but they years pass quickly. It’s so true. I’m hoping to do a handful of family portrait sessions this Spring. If you’re interested just drop me a line, I’d love to chat with ya!

G-MANI shot these with my Grandma Joyce’s Konica that she had when I was his age. Nostalgia is powerful, and drives my work more than I realized.

GAVIN’S FIRST BIRTHDAY Where do you start? I told Katie last night that we’ve lived more life in the past year than any other years combined. There’s been more joy, stress, laughter and growth in us and our relationship that we could ever have imagined. It’s all because of this guy. It’s hard to imagine who we’d be without him in our lives.I want to say a special thanks to to all of our friends and family who were able to brave Icepocalypse 2010 to come hang out at a “vintage owl inspired” birthday party. It was a great day. We also have the awesome priveldge of calling Mishelle of Mishelle Handy Cakes a colleague. She made the amazing cakes that we devoured. I’ve shot her cakes a few times for local publications and she’s always a top notch pro. If you like cake, and I know you do, you’ve got to call her!

Seems like I’ve been on a blog vacation huh? I know, it’s a bummer. But we had an incredible fall this year and we had to cut out the bloggin to keep up with the post production. I’ve got some really awesome stuff in store to show you guys. I was able to shoot some really amazing weddings this year, and meet some incredible people. I can’t wait to tell you all their stories!
In the meantime, I’ll ease back into this with a personal post from my two week vacation that ends TODAY! I took two weeks off two do two things. # 1- finish the renovation on the new house we just bought. That went awesome, its all done now and we’re really enjoying the house. I’ll post some of those HGTV style before and after shots soon.# 2- We joined my family on an RV trip to Indianapolis. My mom’s side is from up north and we haven’t been up there for the holidays since Gavin has come along. Not to mention, we were able to get a photo of all 5 generations from great grandpa down to Gavin. It was a great trip. We made fun of our RV lifestyle most of the time, Great Grandpa entertained us on the piano and we ate, alot.
Some random shots from the trip, hope you and yours had a great holiday!
